The other night I came home from a long day, and my wife asked me if I heard about this girl on you-tube you just started singing cover songs into the web-cam. I told her no, so we looked her up and started watching some of her videos. I was up until like 2 a.m watching this girl and just thinking....look her up if you get a chance... You see this girl Esmee Denters is an 18 year old girl from the Netherlands. She just started singing into a web-cam just for the simple fact she liked to sing. Maybe get a couple of hits on her page, and that's it. Well little did she know she would get a massive following.
Not only did she get a couple of hits on her page..try like MILLIONS..she got the attention of a lot of record labels and later ended up signing a multi million dollar deal with Justin Timberlake.
Now what got me thinking. I think of all the wonderful artists here in the Philippines. I honestly think we might be the most musically inclinded Country in the World. I am amazed with everyone being able to sing and hold some kind of tune for the most part. I mean at least the majority. There are a few like myself who just don't have that gift.
But I look just at our leaders in our church. Jose, Teri, Lana J, Guy, Jam, Kitchie, man there are just too many to think of but you know who you are... Let's make use of all this technology that we have here and be inspired to do something about it. Now imagine for a second, what if we used this technology and ask God to lead us and really to have his hand on our music. I believe it can change the world. This girl Esmee seems like a real sweet girl, does she know Jesus, I have no idea. But I do know with God anything is possible. I believe we need to become a generation of Dreamers.. I MEAN DON'T LIMIT GOD...DREAM BIG GUYS, REAL BIG, I AM TALKING ABOUT GRAMMY'S BIG...I believe it is possible...the question is..DO YOU???
I believe that the Philippines is full of untapped talent and artists. Seriously, I love music, and I always impressed the how much talent we have in this nation. A few have made it internationally but nothing too major. Except that girl who sang on Broadway and in those musicals, but I forgot her name. But I believe with just the few I menitioned earlier, those are all world class artists. Someone needs to step up to the plate and help put the Philippines on the map. How I wish it could be me..BUT I CAN'T SING:)

Amen! Thanks for the nice post. I completely agree with you that there are so much world class talents in our country. Btw, thanks for your love for the country. You're more Filipino than many Filipinos who grew up here. :-)
